Duties:  The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible to organize, assign and review the work of assigned personnel engaged in professional network support, development and maintenance duties; to perform duties requiring specialized knowledge; and to provide administrative support to the assigned supervisor. These positions are allocated to the Information Technology Department and include the following assignments: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Networking/Communications (LAN/WAN), Network Operating Systems (NOS) and Telecommunications. Nursery Manager, Systems Full Time Mon-Fri / 40 BOE Merced County, CA
Duties:  This position will assist the Nursery Operations Manager and Director of Nursery Operations in the planning and implementation of the annual Nursery operations and will support the Nursery Operations Manager to ensure the overall success of the low elevation Nursery operations by providing quality plants in the expected quantity. This position is responsible for compiling accurate Nursery records, farm production reporting, implementing Nursery production plans, developing budgets, tracking Nursery capital and operational cost, maintaining Nursery assets, regulatory compliance and maintaining good relations with neighbors and grower customers. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist the Nursery Operations Manager in planning, implementing, data tracking and year-end analysis and reporting for Nursery trials; assist with capital and operational budget development, capital expenditures and improvements, equipment upgrade budgeting and purchase; assist in developing planting systems and trials; work with vendors to order farm supplies and equipment. * Assist the Nursery Operations Manager in daily operations including but not limited to scheduling, Nursery planting plans and implementation, fumigation worksite plans and implementation, pesticide applications and use reporting, pest monitoring, fertilizer recommendations and applications. * Drive, lead and manage implementation of ERP solutions for the Snelling Nursery. This includes but is not limited to becoming a project lead, power user, trainer and advocating needs for the Nursery site. * Monitor and develop methods to reduce cost/increase efficiencies in conjunction with the Nursery efficiency strategy. * Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the Nursery pertaining but not limited to: surface and groundwater, pesticide, business and governmental. Manage property leases pertaining to the Nursery. Lead land development of newly purchased properties (well and mainline maintenance, tree removal, etc.). * Analyze monthly budget variance reporting and long-term cap-Ex planning (equipment, etc.) * Development of an “agronomic data base” to better understand soil, water, seasonal climate, nutrition, and plant/dig date effects on Nursery yields in both Raspberries and Strawberries. * Develop and implement long-term land use and land rotation plan. * Follow Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, etc. * Ensure the safe keeping of propriety varieties and confidential information. * Perform other duties as assigned Nursery Operations Manager or Director of Nursery Operations.
Qualifications:  * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture Business or related discipline with 3-6 years of relevant experience in an Agriculture setting. * Previous work experience desired managing and/or working with: budgets, farming analytics, regulatory compliance and/or production schedules. * Project management experience desired. * Candidate must be disciplined, detail-oriented and self-motivated. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment with multiple departments. * Good communication skills, self-starter and ability to lead by example. * Strong computer proficiency; particularly with Excel. * English fluency and literacy required with Spanish skills being an asset. * California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program. * A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions as needed. * Able to lift up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
